With 34 children in my class to keep track of it is important to be organised. I got this caddy for a few euro in Ikea but my local Euro Shop also stocks some. Mine is big enough to accommodate my essential supplies:
- Pencil pot containing pens, pencils, scissors, highlighter, makers and glue
- Pencil Sharpener
- Blank labels
- Word lists
- Bulldog clips and elastic bands
Let’s take a closer look inside!
I keep elastic bands for bundling flashcard together in word boxes and bull-dog clips in the pink containers.
I keep labels and a Sharpie in this pouch so I can easily and quickly label take-home readers.
I colour code my class readers so I can keep track of what books have been completed. I photocopy a complete set for each child at the beginning of the year, bundle them into their colour coded sets and store them in the caddy. This saves me walking miles around the room to get new lists as needed.
I use this handout to keep track of who has read what. I just quickly drew a flower and labelled each part with the name of one of our readers/word lists. As children complete them I colour them in (using the same colour coding as the word lists). I keep the necessary crayons in the little tub.
How do you keep your reading supplies together? Please leave me a comment…
