Yesterday we wrapped up our Literature Unit on Mrs. Wishy-Washy’s Farm. We learned lots about farms, farm animals and how to care for them.
When the animals ran away from Mrs. Wishy-Washy’s Farm they found themselves in the city, with hilarious results! They also picked terrible places to hide! I used this part of the story as the inspiration for our Creative Writing activity.
We decided to offer the animals some “smarter” places to hide the next time they don’t fancy a bath. We even thought about why our hiding places would be suitable.
There was lots and lots of language development and rationalizing involved. We came up with some fantastic suggestions.
Some of my favourites were:
- the roof as it was too high up to be seen
- the attic as it is so dark
- in a forest because you could hide behind the trees
- on another farm that has no baths- no further explanation needed there 😉
Aren’t they just precious?! Which would you pick?
Have fun,
Miss Mernagh
