You might have noticed “The Blog Awards Ireland 2013” Finalist Button has been displayed with pride for a number of weeks now. The final was last Saturday night in The Osprey, Hotel, Kildare. All the great and the good of the education world in Ireland were there ;): Simon and Rozz from anseo.net and Damien Quinn from seomraranga. It was fantastic to meet up and chat with them. I am even more buzzed up about blogging now!
Just incase you are curious here areΒ a some official photos from the night and a few from my iPhone:
The theme was “Cabaret” hence all the feather boas etc. I can’t remember the last time when I laughed so much or for so long. The event was put together with extreme attention to detail. We all had our photographs taken upon arrival with some Cabaret Themed props. Did you see all of the treats in our goodie bags? I felt like a superstar!
It was a long wait from 7.30 until 10.20pm when they announced my category!! All of the messages of support and encouragement from all of you on Facebook and Twitter kept me going. It meant so much to me that people took time out of their Saturday night to message me. It was also helpful to spread my nerves out among all off you. It allowed me to eat dinner π
I was so shocked, no stunned to win! I had to be prompted to leave my chair and walk to the stage to collect my award. I made very brief acceptance speech in which I thanked my husband Ed. You might not be aware of it but Ed set up missmernagh.com and launched it for me on Twitter. I was clueless and was certain that I would run out of things to blog about after a week! I was also certain that no one would ever read it! It seems like I might have been wrong………..
I will be back tomorrow with some Halloween themed Data Handling activities.
Have run,
Miss Mernagh π
Congratulations again and thank you for your lovely comments on the awards – am glad you enjoyed it so much
I really had a fantastic night! Lots of people have commented on how happy I look in my Facebook photos. All of those were taken hours before I received my award!! The passion and love put in by the organisers made it a night to remember no matter what π
Delighted to hear – we’re all exhausted this week but hearing things like that makes it worthwhile π
Congratulations and well done Caitriona!
Thanks Carmel!!

Congratulations well deserved.
Thanks Debora. I hope that beethebooks is going well. My class love it π
I am a parent that has just come across your Blog in the last few weeks and I think it is amazing!! As well as a fantastic blogger, you sound like an amazing teacher. Well deserved award. Huge congrats.
Hi Sarah, thank you so much! You are so sweet to comment. Comments mean as much or more than an award. I love blogging and teaching! I happily spend my holidays preparing for class π Please let me know what kind of resources you would like to see. I always love to know what parents need. I set up the blog to support parents rather than teachers. Now I try to help both.
Miss Mernagh π
Congrats
You deserve it

Hi Sinead, It is great to have my blog acknowledged. You put all of your work out into the web and rarely know how it impacts on others. One of the best parts of winning is hearing from people like you π
