My school has decided to acknowledge the importance of handwriting by presenting awards each month and displaying samples the Principal’s noticeboard . As I teach emergent writers I have decided to honour both the “most improved” and “the best handwriting” in my class. I think that it is important to acknowledge effort and progress as well as greatness 😉
Perhaps you might find my awards useful in your class. I have made them in black and white and plan to mount/photocopy mine on some brightly coloured card. I don’t have a colour printer at work so black and white is essential ;).
