I don’t know about you but I am tired of flashcards appearing on the carpet having fallen out of a word box. Invariably there will be noooooo owner which is even more annoying. Cue searching through 34 boxes to find it’s home…. Anyway, the other evening I got to thinking that there must be an easier way….
May I introduce my new friend, the Jolly Phonics Ring 🙂
This is my first version and I hope to make it even better over the Summer hols. I have colour coded the sounds, vowels and digraphs. I think that it is pretty cute and very useful. It will be easy to add sounds to the ring and will make reviewing sounds a doddle. Even if I don’t roll it out for my entire class I will be using it for assessment purposes.
Here is a sample page for you to look at. I just punched a hole in the corner of each flashcard and used a binding clip, available in Stationery Shops, to keep them together.
What do you think? I would love some feedback. What do you do in your classroom or with your child?
Have fun,
Miss Mernagh 🙂
